The Perfect Breast Screening Routine - Part 3

"Are you sure, doc?"

"No one in my family has breast cancer."

"But I don't have any symptoms."

"But I feel fine. Aren't people with cancer supposed to feel bad?"

The vast majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer every year are surprised by their diagnosis.

The lack of symptoms and the negative family history provide thousands of women with a false sense of security that "it could never happen to me."

Unfortunately statistics reveal that 1 out of every 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.

How can we stop this pandemic of false security?

We need to focus on function.

Rather than testing for disease and imaging for pathology we should focus on testing for how well our bodies are functioning.

Only 5% of cancers are due to genetic defect.

Which means if our bodies are functioning at optimal level then we have a very small chance of disease occurring.

There are hundreds of ways to test functionality of the human body.

Blood pressure is a functional test of the heart.

EKG is also a functional test.

Blood work can be a functional test.

What is the best way to assess the function of your breasts?

Thermography, hands down.

Thermography is less concerned with if you currently have cancer (although it does help with that) and more concerned with how healthy the breast tissue is.

It's nearly impossible for cancer to develop in healthy tissue.

This is the reason thermography MUST be a part of your screening routine.

It's the gold standard of assessing breast health and predicting your risk of breast cancer.

When you know your risk it empowers you to make the necessary interventions to avoid being another statistic.
